Oak, Elm & Birch Welcomes 2024 Summer Associate Class

HARTFORD, CT — May 13, 2024 — Oak, Elm & Birch LLP has welcomed six rising third-year law students to its 2024 summer associate program, which began this week at the firm's Trumbull Street office. The class will rotate through the Corporate, Litigation, Real Estate, and Trusts & Estates practices over a ten-week program running through July 19.
The 2024 summer associates are Daniel Moreau (University of Connecticut School of Law), interested in corporate and M&A work; Priya Ramaswamy (Boston College Law School), interested in complex commercial litigation; Sarah Chen-Whitaker (Cornell Law School), interested in trusts and estates; Marcus Brennan (Fordham University School of Law), interested in labor and employment; Elena Kowalski (Quinnipiac University School of Law), interested in real estate and land use; and Oluwaseun Adeyemi (University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School), interested in tax and corporate.
"Our summer program is the most important recruiting channel we have, and this class is one of the strongest we have seen," said Courtney Davidson, Director of Human Resources. "Between the six of them we have experience at the U.S. Attorney's Office, at a Manhattan private equity fund, and on the Connecticut General Assembly's Judiciary Committee. They are going to do real work."
Summer associates at Oak, Elm & Birch are assigned to active matters under the supervision of partners and senior associates, attend court appearances and closings, and write for publication in the firm's Insights archive. Offer decisions for the class of 2025 will be made by August.
