Oak, Elm & Birch LLP is hiring an IT Support Technician for our Hartford office. The technician will report to William "Bill" Fuji, Director of Information Technology, and will be the first point of contact for end-user technology support across the firm's roughly fifty attorneys and staff.

What the role covers

  • First-line end-user support for attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff — workstation issues, mobile device configuration, remote-access troubleshooting.
  • Administration support for Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), including account provisioning, license assignment, and basic policy management.
  • iManage Work document-management system support, including profile and document-import issues, integration with Office, and search troubleshooting.
  • Basic network troubleshooting — printer connectivity, Wi-Fi access points, VPN client issues, simple switch and firewall log review under the IT Director's supervision.
  • Onboarding and offboarding of firm personnel: account creation, equipment provisioning, access removal.
  • Endpoint security agent monitoring and escalation to the IT Director on security events.

Required experience

  • Two or more years of IT support or helpdesk experience, ideally in a law firm or professional-services environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and Windows 11.
  • Basic networking competency (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN troubleshooting).

Preferred experience

  • Hands-on iManage Work support experience.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification.
  • Prior work in a law firm or other environment with confidential-document handling obligations.

The role is full-time, in-office, with a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours issues shared with the IT Director.
